Communication is key
Communication is key.
When we are out in the mountains and on the trails together, communication becomes
vital to navigate our way through the tough sections, but it also creates the ability to
share experiences and build stories. We need the right equipment to be successful…
Anyone that has ever tried to communicate by yelling out the window as you snake your
way through tight trails and climb obstacles knows that it is really tough to hear and be
heard with the rumbles of engines, the squealing of steering boxes, and the screech of
brake pads struggling to hold back certain disaster… Hand signals are great right up
until the moment the aren’t… To combat this hinderance, at OGWG, we installed 50
watt GMRS radios so that communication becomes much easier and those vital points
of advice can be given and received… Not to mention, there ends up being great
fellowship and entertainment throughout the day with the proper amount of banter back
and forth…
Our spiritual lives are very much the same. Just as a good radio set up makes all the
difference in conquering those tough obstacles when we are out wheeling,
communication with GOD makes all the difference as we learn to endure the tough
terrain that life brings.
When JESUS was crucified on Golgotha and died on the cross, there were a few events
that immediately occurred… The sun was blackened in the middle of the day, there was
a great Earthquake that violently shook Creation itself, and the Temple vail was torn in 2
from top to bottom. That vail separated the outer courts of the Temple from the inner
Holy of Holies where the presence of GOD resided. When the vail was torn, that
separation between man and GOD was removed… Allowing us access to GOD.
In the greatest sermon ever preached, recorded and known as the Sermon on the
Mount, JESUS said in…
Matthew 6
7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they
think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your
Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
One of the key points in communicating on the trail is that you trust your Bro and what
he can see that you can’t…
We must pray to the LORD with hearts full and authentic and we have to trust in faith
what GOD says and gives in return…
James 1
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without
reproach, and it will be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for
the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the
wind. 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the
Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Likewise, we are encouraged in 1 John to not only ask in faith, but we are to pray and
ask according to the will of GOD for our lives, if we do so, we can absolutely know and
be confident that we are heard and what we ask for will be given…
1 John 5
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you
may know that you have eternal life. 14 And this is the confidence that we have
toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we
know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests
that we have asked of him.
JESUS cut the trail that gave us access to the FATHER through HIS death on the cross,
while doing so, HE provided the radio channel we need to communicate with our divine
spotter… But we have to be authentic, trusting, and follow the directions given, to
conquer the obstacles that lie ahead.
Have you tuned your radio to the right channel?
Most people spend their lives trying to avoid the challenges and obstacles… At Off Grid
With GOD, like anyone that loves to be offroad in a 4x4, we love the obstacles…
Especially when you have the perfect spotter and good coms.
Communication is key… On the trail and in life, it can mean the difference between
certain destruction and epic stories shared around the camp fire for years to come.
