Power Source: Stay Connected
Text: John 15:5 (NKJV)
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:5 (NKJV)
Power Isn’t Automatic
Anyone who runs off-grid equipment knows this:
Power matters.
You can have lights, fridge, winch, navigation, radios — but if you’re not connected to the source, everything eventually shuts down.
Jesus makes the same point in John 15:5:
“Without Me you can do nothing.”
Not “less.”
Not “with difficulty.”
Nothing.
That’s not condemnation.
That’s clarity.
Abide Means Stay Connected
“Abide” means to remain, to dwell, to stay rooted.
This isn’t a Sunday habit.
It’s a daily connection.
We don’t manufacture fruit — we maintain connection.
When we stay connected:
Character grows.
Peace steadies.
Leadership deepens.
Integrity strengthens.
Faith matures.
Fruit isn’t forced. It’s formed.
The Slow Drain
Disconnection doesn’t usually feel dramatic.
It’s subtle.
Prayer shortens.
The Word gathers dust.
Conviction softens.
Pride increases.
Patience decreases.
You can operate for a while on yesterday’s charge.
But eventually… fruit stops showing.
Off Grid — Not Disconnected
Being off grid doesn’t mean isolated.
It means intentional.
We step away from noise, distraction, comparison — but we never unplug from Christ.
The quieter the world becomes, the clearer His voice gets.
This Week’s Challenge
Ask yourself honestly:
Where am I running on reserve power?
Marriage?
Business?
Leadership?
Integrity?
Joy?
You don’t fix fruit.
You fix connection.
Return to the vine.
Prayer
Lord,
Keep me connected.
When pride tells me I can run on my own strength, remind me You are the source.
Recharge what has been draining.
Let the fruit in my life reflect Your power, not my effort.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
