Sometimes You're the Only Light
Anyone who has spent time off-road after dark knows something about light.
When the sun goes down, familiar trails become unfamiliar.
Obstacles seem bigger.
Turns are harder to recognize.
Even a trail you've driven a dozen times can feel completely different in the dark.
That's why good lighting isn't about showing off.
It's about seeing clearly...
...and helping others find their way.
Jesus Didn't Say Try to Be Light
He said: "You are the light of the world."
If you've placed your faith in Christ, His light lives within you.
The question isn't whether you're a light.
The question is...
How brightly are you shining?
Light Doesn't Draw Attention to Itself
A good set of trail lights doesn't exist so people admire the lights.
They exist so everyone can safely continue the journey.
That's how our lives should be.
Our goal isn't to draw attention to ourselves.
Our goal is to point people toward Jesus.
Every act of kindness...
Every encouraging word...
Every moment of integrity...
Every time we choose forgiveness...
We illuminate the trail for someone else.
Darkness Isn't Defeated by Arguing
You never remove darkness by yelling at it.
You remove darkness... By turning on the light.
Our world doesn't need more angry voices.
It needs more faithful Christians whose lives reflect Christ.
People who love well.
Serve humbly.
Speak truth with grace.
Live differently.
That's what light does.
Shine Where God Has Planted You
You don't have to travel across the world to be a light.
Start where you already are.
At home.
At work.
In your church.
On the trail.
In the grocery store.
In traffic.
God has already placed people in your path who need to see His light through you.
This Week's Trail Challenge
Ask God each morning: "Lord, who needs to see Your light through me today?"
Then intentionally encourage one person.
Serve someone without expecting recognition.
Offer hope where someone else sees only darkness.
Small lights make a big difference.
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for calling me out of darkness into Your marvelous light.
Help me reflect Jesus in the way I speak, serve, and love others.
Let my life point people to You instead of myself.
May I never hide the light You've placed within me.
