Trust the Process

Scripture (NKJV)

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
— Romans 8:28

The Long Way Around

Have you ever been on a trail and wondered why it wasn't going directly where you wanted to go?

Instead of climbing straight to the ridge, it wound back and forth.

Switchbacks.

Long curves.

Unexpected turns.

At first, it can feel inefficient.

Why not just go straight there?

Then you realize the trail builder knew something you didn't.

The direct route wasn't the best route.

God Often Works the Same Way

Most of us love destinations.

God often focuses on the journey.

We pray for:

  • answers

  • breakthroughs

  • healing

  • direction

And sometimes God provides them immediately.

Other times...

He works through a process.

A process that feels slow.

A process that stretches us.

A process we don't always understand.

What We See vs. What God Sees

Romans 8:28 doesn't say all things are good.

It says:

"All things work together for good..."

There is a difference.

Some experiences are painful.

Some seasons are difficult.

Some roads are rough.

But God has the ability to take what we cannot understand and weave it into His greater purpose.

Growth Happens on the Trail

Nobody develops endurance sitting in the driveway.

The trail changes you.

The obstacles teach you.

The challenges strengthen you.

The same is true spiritually.

Many of the lessons we value most today were learned during seasons we never would have chosen.

Don't Abandon the Process

One of the greatest temptations is quitting when we don't see immediate results.

We want the harvest before the planting.

The destination without the journey.

The victory without the struggle.

But God is often doing His deepest work when it feels like the least is happening.

This Week's Challenge

Think about an area of your life where you're frustrated by the pace.

Where you're asking:

"Why is this taking so long?"

Instead of focusing on the destination this week, ask:

"What is God teaching me in the process?"

You may discover He's doing more than you realize.

Prayer

Lord,

Help me trust You when I don't understand the path.

Give me patience when the journey feels longer than I expected.

Teach me to see Your hand not only in the destination, but in the process itself.

Help me trust that You are working, even when I cannot see it.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
